OSBI: Okmulgee police shoot, kill suicidal man
OKMULGEE, Okla. (KTUL) —
The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation says they're investigating a deadly officer-involved shooting in Okmulgee.
Officers responded around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday to the Budget Inn in Okmulgee for a disturbance call, according to OSBI. Police say they found a man who was threatening suicide and had a knife to his throat.
OSBI says officers told the man to drop the knife, but he did not comply and advanced on officers. Multiple officers shot the man, who later died at the hospital.
The man's name has not been released.
The District Attorney's Office will determine if the shooting was justified.
