Unemployment claims have skyrocketed during the coronavirus crisis, making it a scary time for soon-to-be college graduates.

Oklahoma State University is giving its students a fighting chance to obtain a job via its virtual career service.

Pam Ehlers, the director of career services at OSU, says students are struggling but there's no reason to panic.

The job market is changing every day.

Ehlers says most places, including OSU, are on a hiring freeze so she is encouraging recent graduates to be patient, prepared, persistent and creative.

OSU has transitioned all of its career services to an online format to virtually help students.

“We will take one-on-one virtual appointments, we will help you do mock interviews, we will do resume critiquing, so if you are struggling please reach out,” Ehlers said.

Whether or not you're an OSU student, its career services are available for you.

Her biggest piece of advice is to not give up.
