OKLAHOMA CITY (KOKH) -- The Oklahoma State Department of Health provided an updated number of how many Oklahomans have registered for the coronavirus vaccine as of Thursday.

According to the Health Department, 542,610 Oklahomans have registered on its online portal to receive notifications on eligibility as of 5:00 p.m. Thursday.

Below are some additional numbers the Health Department released:

  • 15,846 Oklahomans registered through the portal to receive notifications on eligibility in Phase 1
  • 307,852 Oklahomans have registered through the portal in Phase 2 (currently eligible groups)
  • 86,949 appointments have been scheduled by Oklahomans eligible to receive the vaccine

According to the Health Department, 197,820 doses of the vaccine have been administered as of January 15th.

Currently, the following groups are eligible for vaccine appointments as Phase 2 of the vaccine plan:

  • Healthcare workers
  • Expanded healthcare worker group such as allied health fields and general outpatient health service (i.e. behavioral health, dentists)
  • First responders
  • Oklahomans aged 65+

What you can expect when registering:

  • The Health Department said warns that successful registration with the portal does not guarantee an appointment. Registering only means that you will be notified when you are eligible to schedule an appointment
  • When you successfully register, you will receive two email notifications
  • The first email notification is a registration confirmation email. This email confirms that you are registered in the system and will be notified when you are eligible to receive the vaccine
  • The second email will be a confirmation email with a link to set up an appointment. This email will be sent to you when the vaccine and an appointment is available in your area
  • The Health Department said that you can expect your confirmation email within 24-48 hours of successfully registering

The Oklahoma State Department of Health will be holding a question and answer session to discuss Oklahoma’s COVID-19 vaccine plan and vaccine scheduler portal at 1:30 p.m. Friday.
