Owasso man accused of showing pornographic image to child inside Walmart
OWASSO, Okla. (KTUL) -- Owasso police say a man is accused of showing pornographic images to a child inside Walmart last week.
Police say officers responded to Walmart last Friday evening for a report of lewd acts involving a child. A woman said she was shopping with her grandchildren in the toy department when her 8-year-old granddaughter went to the next aisle alone. The girl started screaming and ran back to her grandmother, saying an older man showed her pictures of a naked man on his phone.
"She screamed, drew attention to herself," said Deputy Chief Jason Woodruff. "Ran back to her grandma. Grandma got a hold of store employees who contacted us."
Police say the man ran and officers were unable to find him.
Police released an image of a person of interest Tuesday but declined to give specifics on the incident until an arrest was made, calling the allegations "sensitive" in nature.
Within an hour of police releasing image, 59-year-old Joseph Kleber showed up at the police station. Kleber was interviewed and arrested for lewd acts to a child and showing obscene material to a minor.
Police say this may not have been an isolated incident and believe there could be additional victims even outside Owasso. Anyone who believes their child may be a victim should call Owasso police or their local police department.
