2 injured in small plane crash at McAlester Regional Airport

MCALESTER, Okla. (KTUL) -- Police are investigating a small plane crash near McAlester Regional Airport.

According to the manager at the airport, a small plane crashed at the south end of the runway. The plane was carrying two passengers, a student pilot and an instructor.

OHP Caption Paul Timmons tells Channel 8 the crew was doing touch-and-go landing when the plane crashed. Both victims were life-flighted to a McAlester hospital, then the pilot was life-flighted to a hospital in Tulsa.

The cause of the crash is still unknown.
