Police: Bank robbery suspect arrested in Missouri
TULSA, Okla. (KTUL) —
Tulsa Police confirm the bank robbery suspect that allegedly robbed the Bank of Oklahoma Tuesday morning was arrested in Missouri.
TPD is working on bringing him back to Tulsa.
On Tuesday, Joplin Police responded to a call at the Great Southern Bank where employees reported that a black male in a dark colored Ford Mustang had been driving in their lot "suspiciously." The suspect left the bank and an employee followed him to the Arvest Bank. Police say the suspect left the area before they arrived.
According to police, while they were investigating the incidents and reviewing video, Great Southern Bank called and reported his return. Officers quickly arrived, stopped the suspect and arrested him.
Once Joplin detectives realized he matched the description of a bank robbery suspect in Tulsa, they contacted the FBI and began working together.
Police are not releasing his name or mugshot as to not jeopardize the investigation.
The suspect is currently in custody at the Joplin City Jail.
This is a developing story.
