Police: Drunk driver involved in several hit-and-runs
TULSA, Okla. (KTUL) —
Tulsa police responded to reports of a hit-and-run driver involving several vehicles in midtown.
Police say an extremely intoxicated suspect, later identified as 24-year-old Levoverto Curry, hit a vehicle in the parking lot of the Touchdown Club and fled the scene with the victim giving chase.
While fleeing the victim of the first hit-and-run, Curry struck a GMC SUV at 4th Street and Quebec and fled the scene, according to police.
Police say Curry later struck an unoccupied Toyota Tacoma parked in front of a residence on South Pittsburgh Avenue and fled his vehicle on foot. The victims from the first hit-and-run detained him until police arrived.
Curry was involved in other hit-and-runs, but the victims in those cases did not wait on police to respond, according to police.
Curry was taken to a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
Police say that upon his release from the hospital, he will most likely face charges for the hit-and-runs, a DUI and related traffic charges.
