TULSA, Okla. (KTUL) -- Eighteen-year-old Montevion Hall was shot and killed during a robbery-gone-bad on Saturday night near Admiral and Memorial.
Family and friends of Hall said he was a senior at Central High School and was on the football team.
Phillip Moment, 18, is at the Tulsa County Jail in connection to the murder.
Police said they don't believe Moment shot Hall.
On Saturday night, police said Hall and Moment met up with some people at Norvell Park to exchange guns.
Then, police said when Moment grabbed the gun from the other group of people, he racked the gun and pointed it at them.
That's when police said it turned into an armed robbery.
The other group of people then began to shoot at Moment and Hall.
"It's one of those things that happens any time you get involved in a situation where you are trying to take something away forcibly from somebody else. You have to pay the piper for that," said Sgt. Brandon Watkins with the Tulsa police. "Essentially, if you're committing a crime and felony, even if you didn't shot and kill the other person and someone ends up dead from it, even if it's your partner or friend, you still get charged with murder."
Hall died on scene.
His mother tells Channel 8 he was the glue to the family and leaves behind four siblings.
A GoFundMe has been made to help cover funeral costs, click here if you want to help the family.
Police are still chasing down leads and working to talk to the other group of people to hear their side of the story.
