Police: Same man involved in back-to-back armed robberies at east Tulsa apartment complex
TULSA, Okla. (KTUL) —
Police are investigating two armed robberies at an east Tulsa apartment complex, and the same suspect could be responsible for both.
Officers responded around 12:30 a.m. to the Heatherstone Apartments near 33rd and Mingo to investigate a report of an armed robbery that occurred at the Sierra Pointe Apartments near I-44 and Garnett. A woman told police she had just dropped off someone at the Sierra Pointe Apartments when a male suspect approached her vehicle and demanded money from her at gunpoint. Police say the victim complied and was unhurt.
The suspect in that robbery is described as a black man between 25 and 30 years old. He was wearing a gray bandanna, gray shirt and black pants and was armed with a handgun.
A few minutes after responding to the first armed robbery call, police responded to another one at the Sierra Pointe Apartments. Police say a different victim was approached by a man armed with a handgun who demanded his property. The victim gave the suspect his wallet and phone, but a neighbor came out of his apartment during the robbery. The suspect shot at the neighbor, forcing him back into his apartment, police say.
The suspect in the second robbery has the same description as the first, according to police. He was last seen jumping over a fence and into a trailer court.
