TULSA, Okla. (KTUL) -- An hours-long standoff is over in north Tulsa after an armed robbery suspect surrenders.

Officers responded to Dollar General near Admiral and Pittsburg around 8 a.m. Friday after employees reported an armed man entered the store. The employees ran out of the building, leaving the suspect inside alone.

The suspect walked out with his arms raised above his head just after 11 a.m. Police have identified him as Treveon Vaughn, 27.

Police say Vaughn's getaway vehicle drove off not long after he entered the store. At one point during the standoff, smoke began pouring from the building. Police say the sprinkler system kicked on and extinguished the fire but the suspect stayed inside.

The Tulsa Police Department's Special Operations Team was on the scene communicating with Vaughn through a loud speaker.

Police believe Vaughn may also be involved in a series of similar dollar store robberies.
