Tulsa police say a man has been arrested on a manslaughter complaint after a deadly shooting in west Tulsa.

Officers responded around 3 a.m. to a home near West 4th Street and South 33rd West Avenue after a man reportedly shot his 20-year-old girlfriend. Police say they found the woman dead on the front porch.

The suspect, 21-year-old Xavier Dixon, stayed at the scene and cooperated with police. He was taken downtown along with two other witnesses, and police say he told them he thought someone was breaking into his home.

Detectives investigated whether Dixon was defending himself and later arrested him. It's not clear if the victim was armed.

The woman's name is not being released until her family is notified.
