Poteau city councilor arrested in California for methamphetamine


TULSA, Okla. (KTUL) -- A Poteau city councilor is facing charges for methamphetamine.

On Wednesday, David White was arrested by authorities in northern California. According to the Poteau Police Department, White's arrest is the culmination of a lengthy investigation with their investigators, the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics and the District 16 Drug Task Force.

Poteau police say White was federally indicted in US District Court in Muskogee on one count of drug conspiracy and four counts of methamphetamine distribution.

White, Poteau's Ward 3 city councilor, remains in jail in California awaiting extradition to Oklahoma.
