Preliminary hearing set for suspect in 1999 Welch murders

A preliminary hearing has been set for the man charged in connection with a notorious cold case out of Welch.

Ronnie Busick made a procedural appearance in court Friday as prosecutors and defense attorneys work to determine what evidence they have in the case. Busick is charged with four counts of first-degree murder and two counts of kidnapping in the 1999 murders of Danny and Kathy Freeman, along with their daughter Ashley and her friend Lauria Bible.

A preliminary hearing for Busick has been set for Sept. 14.
