SAND SPRINGS, Okla. (KTUL) — The community of Sand Springs is mourning the loss of two teenage girls who were killed Tuesday night.
Sand Springs police said 56-year-old David Kaser shot his two daughters before turning the gun on himself.
Officials said 19-year-old Clarissa Kaser had recently graduated Charles Page High School in 2020.
Her sister, 14-year-old Crystal "Grey" Kaser, was only in the ninth grade.
With heavy hearts, Sand Springs Public Schools released a statement over Tuesday's tragedy.
"As our community tries to make sense of the last few weeks' events, we will stand ready to offer support and help whenever needed," the statement read. "We must make it our priority to lean on each other, love our neighbor, and support our students and families to the greatest extent possible."
Sand Springs Superintendent, Sherry Durkee, said for most people, public schools are the heart of a community.
"Sandites are a source of strength and resolve, and words cannot express how thankful we are for this community," Durkee said in the press release.
Sand Springs schools will continue to offer counseling services for both students and staff; anyone affected by Tuesday's shooting, or the triple-murder suicide that happened Saturday, Jan. 30.
