Search party being organized for a Miami man that's been missing for almost a week
MIAMI, Okla. (KTUL) —
For nearly 30 years he relayed the news through his job at the Miami News-Record, but now Mark Rogers has become the news.
"Everyone's looking for him," said Ottawa County Sheriff Jeremy Floyd, explaining Mr. Rogers last known whereabouts.
"Mark was actually staying at a place called Laris Rescare, it's like a care center in Langley Oklahoma. He was there on a volunteer basis just to try and seek some treatment on what he was dealing with on a personal level," he said.
Officials at the facility discovered he was missing on Dec. 26.
"He was wearing a pair of jeans, a flannel shirt, a black jacket and he could or could not have an OU sock hat on," he said.
As for whether there's any concern he may do harm to himself?
"You know, at this point we're not. I know Mark was dealing with a lot of personal issues but the family doesn't believe that he was, would do something of that nature to himself, so, you know, whatever the family believes and trusts that's what we have to go off," he said.
The mystery of Mark Rogers; with hope for a happy ending.
"This is not something Mark would normally do," he said.
