Semi fire that blocked a section of I-44 Friday started in cabin
TULSA, Okla. (KTUL) —
The Tulsa Fire Department responded to a semi that caught fire on westbound Interstate 44 near Sheridan Road just after 5 p.m.
The driver says the fire started in the main cabin of the semi. He got out to flag someone down to help, then called 911.
Firefighters say it was most likely an electrical issue.
The Tulsa Fire Department wants to caution drivers in the area as there is a lot of water on the road, and the temperatures are dropping quickly. The section of I-44 between Memorial and State Highway 51 will be slick; drivers should avoid the area, if possible.
