TULSA, Okla. (KTUL) — According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, six high school-aged girls have died in a car accident in Johnston County.
A spokesperson with OHP said the crash happened around 12:30 p.m. Tuesday and involved a semi a and a small passenger car.
All of the girls involved were traveling in the small car, and none survived the accident.
The crash happened near U.S. Highway 377 and State Highway 22 near Tishomingo.
The Johnston County Sheriff's Office temporarily closed the intersection while responding to the crash. The Tishomingo Police Department, Johnston County Sheriff's Office, Tishomingo Fire Department, Ravia Fire Department, and Johnston County EMS all responded to the incident.
Tishomingo High School says it plans to stay in session for school tomorrow but the focus "will be the emotional well-being of our students."
