State Health Department reports dozens more flu deaths, breaking state record
TULSA, Okla. (KTUL) - The Oklahoma State Department of Health has reported an additional three dozen flu deaths across the state.
This year, 129 people have now died from flu-related illnesses since flu season began, according to OSDH. As many as 3,000 people have been hospitalized for flu-related reasons in that same time span.
Twenty-three people have died from the flu in Tulsa County, according to the latest report.
The state record is 130 flu-related deaths, which occurred last year, according to OSDH.
State health officials anticipate breaking the record this season.
