State Superintendent Ryan Walters is known for his controversial statements regarding teachers. However, his latest take may be his most controversial yet.

"I don't negotiate with the teacher's union," said Walters. "They are a terrorist organization that has continued to spread misinformation across the state."

Walter's statement comes just days after the President of the Tulsa Classroom Teacher's Association, Shawna Mott-Wright, had a civil conversation with Walters asking that he tone down his rhetoric.

"To call teachers terrorists. teachers who have used themselves as human shields when tornados come to protect those babies. Teachers who will step in front of a gunman to save their kids' lives?" Mott-Wright said in response.

Teachers and teachers' unions across the state are outraged at Walter's statements.
