STILLWATER, Okla. (KTUL) — Stillwater police are looking for 23-year-old Darian Hudson after finding her belongings in a wooded area by a church that's under construction.
She’s been missing since Oct. 26. Police say construction workers report seeing Hudson sitting down on a tree log.
“I said, ‘Do you need help? Is there something wrong?’ and she just looked at me, like please don’t call the cops or something. That’s what I got from it,” said Steve Edmondson, who had been assigned to pick up debris from the construction site.
He told others about the mysterious woman who was sitting alone.
“If we had known, we could have notified somebody, without knowing, she was just another person that could have been homeless,” said Louis Cottrell, who was also working with the crew.
Police say they have talked to family and friends, and they do not suspect foul play, but they are concerned.
A search with a K-9 and a drone did not locate the young woman, but they did find her wallet and hoodie.
Lt. Jeff Watts says Hudson did not have a car at the time and that she had just paid rent for her apartment.
“Nobody can tell us they saw her leaving there, in any particular direction or saw her get in a vehicle, saw anyone pick her up, so we don’t have a clue where she is right now,” said Watts. "We just wanna find her and get her home to her family."
He says Hudson’s family has reason to believe she could be having a mental health crisis.
