TULSA, Okla. (KTUL) — Tulsa police say the only connection between two women's murders is the suspect they arrested Tuesday.
Terryl Brooks, 22, is being held on suspicion of murdering Elizabeth Dillard on March 25 and Rainbow Star Dancer just over a week later.
Both women were gunned down at their front doors, according to an arrest report.
Family and witnesses in both investigations described the same man with the same truck and dog.
Bullet casings found at both shootings matched the same gun, police determined.
Police say Brooks admitted to being in a relationship with Dillard and staying with Dancer for a week. Police didn’t say that Brooks admitted to the shootings. He asked for an attorney when “confronted” with information about the murders, police say in their report.
Police believe Brooks, who they report was homeless, had been kicked out of the home by Dillard a couple weeks before she was murdered.
Police didn’t specify in the arrest report how Brooks ended up staying with Dancer.
