TULSA, Okla. (KTUL) — Bristow Public Schools is mourning the loss of a first-year teacher who taught at Edison Elementary.
Marty Bernstein said his lifelong dream was to be a teacher.
The school said although he was with them for only a short amount of time, Mr. Bernstein had already made an impact on his students and staff members.
"We will always remember the motivation, energy, and passion Mr. Bernstein brought to his latest venture as a BPS educator," the school said in a Facebook post.
Last school year, Bernstein completed his student teaching requirements at Edison Elementary School.
This May, Bernstein graduated from the University of Oklahoma with his teaching degree.
Memorial services for Bernstein will be held Friday morning at 10 at the Rose Hill Memorial Park.
The Olive First Baptist Church will be hosting a Celebration of Life ceremony for Bernstein Sunday, Sept. 19.
