TULSA, Okla. (KTUL) — The Tulsa Classroom Teachers Association is holding three candidate forums, to help teachers decide on their votes this coming primary election.
“I have been helping with it. I took on planning all three of our candidate forums. We have one tonight, one Thursday and one next Thursday as well,” explained Hannah Fernandez, an elementary teacher.
Fernandez says she is hoping for a change at the legislative level after this year’s teacher walkout, and the attempted repeal at funding for their promised raise.
Whitney Sanders, another teacher says she is paying close attention to who is running for office, and what they have to say.
“The day they filed I knew all of the names for the people that were running in my district as well as the district where I work,” said Sanders.
The next forum will be held on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at East Central.
