Dangerous temperatures reach triple-digits to end week
OKLAHOMA CITY (KOKH) —
The hottest temperatures so far this year will happen Thursday and Friday across Oklahoma.
High temperatures on Thursday will reach 102 degrees, but the humidity will make it feel hotter. Heat index values, or what it will feel like, will be in over 110. A HEAT ADVISORY is in effect from Noon Thursday through Friday evening. Temperatures will be dangerously high today and Friday, so please make sure to stay safe and cool. Drink plenty of water and try to avoid being outside in the peak heat of the day. Don't forget about the pets too as it won't be safe for them to be outside for a long amount of time this afternoon.
The hottest day will be on Friday with a high of 104. A few degrees cooler this weekend, but the humidity will be high so it will still feel very hot.
A weak cold front will bring temperatures back to the low to mid 90s by the middle part of next week. No rain in the forecast for the next 7 days.
