TFD hosting fire station open house at multiple locations
TULSA, Okla. (KTUL) —
Firefighters say this is a great opportunity for citizens to come by and meet the crews. People will also be able to see the trucks, learn some lifesaving information and get a free smoke alarm.
TFD says four out of five home fire deaths occur at home and two out of three of those deaths didn't have a working smoke alarm.
The open houses will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the following locations:
- Station 7 – 3005 E. 15th St.
- Station 16 – 2412 N. Harvard Ave.
- Station 18 – 4802 S. Peoria Ave.
- Station 22 – 7303 E. 15th St.
- Station 28 – 7310 E. 71st St.
The fire department says they've seen 10 fire-related deaths in 2017 and 11 so far in 2018 in Tulsa alone.
TFD handed out 362 smoke alarms last year and 252 this year.
Firefighters say they will even install the smoke alarms for Tulsa residents.
