TULSA, Okla. (KTUL) — "The Outsiders" turned 40 years old Saturday.

The movie was released in theaters nationwide on March 25, 1983.

The Se Hinton classic book turned movie, was shot in Tulsa and surrounding areas, including the iconic scene filmed at the Admiral Twin Drive-In.
