Families gather to celebrate the New Year at Tulsa Children's Museum Discovery Lab for it's third annual Noon Year's Eve event.

The event was held from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m.

The executive director, Ray Vandiver told Tulsa's Channel 8 that the event was a safe and fun way for families to celebrate the New Year.

Different contests were held for the kids, such as a crazy hat contest.

At noon, the museum released 8,000 balloons from their lime green ceiling.
