TPD: Victim shot in chest trying to stop suspect from stealing his truck (KTUL)

TULSA, Okla. (KTUL) -- Tulsa police say a man was shot in the chest Thursday morning trying to stop someone from stealing his truck.

It happened around 6:15 a.m. near 56th Street North and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.

Neighbors tell us they saw a flatbed truck outside the victim's house, trying to steal the victim's pickup truck. The victim came outside and tried to stop the suspect and that's when he was shot in the chest.

Police say paramedics took the victim to the hospital but his condition is unknown at this time.

Neighbors say the victim is around 50 years old and lives alone.

Right now the suspect remains at large.
