Tulsa Dream Center hosts annual toy drive

TULSA, Okla. (KTUL) — The Tulsa Dream Center hosted it's 20th annual toy drive Saturday morning.

The center says that out of all of their holiday events, this one is the biggest. Cars were lined up for ten blocks waiting for their turn.

From 9 a.m. to noon, dozens of volunteers handed out 6,000 gifts to local kids for the holidays. Families also received turkeys and holiday food boxes.

Pastor Tim Newton with the Tulsa Dream Center says it's a community effort to give back, even if it looks different during the pandemic.

"This is our second year doing a drive thru," said Newton. "The way we are doing it today but we are just happy to be out here and bless so many people."

Any leftovers will go to local shelters and hospitals in Tulsa.
