The Tulsa Historical Society & Museum shared photos on Monday in memory of the Promenade Mall.

The Promenade Mall, open since 1965, closed its doors indefinitely due to fire code violations.

According to the Tulsa Historical Society, the mall was originally an open-air mall called Southland.

It was designed by architect Malcolm McCune, who designed Utica Square a few years before. Promenade was developed by Max Campbell, who lived on farmland at 41st and Yale.

Photos of the Promenade Mall were shared by the historical society and are dated in 1965.
