Tulsa Public Schools is hosting early childhood enrollment family block parties.

The district hosted one this weekend at John Hope Franklin Elementary. It specifically hoped to enroll kids entering Pre-K but says overall it wants to simplify the enrollment process for families.

“Sometimes it's hard to get across town to get to the enrollment center, to get access to our online system. We just wanted to make it easier and a more welcoming experience to come out here, talk to us, get enrolled," said Jordan Sheffield-Mix, program manager for early childhood education at TPS.

TPS is seeing a drop in numbers due to the pandemic, but teachers say they're ready to see their classes filled again.

If you missed the enrollment block party, TPS will have another one at Marshall Elementary on July 17 and Robertson Elementary will have one on July 31.
