A Union Public Schools security guard has been charged with seven counts of using technology to engage in sexual communication with a minor.

Carlos Hopkins was a security guard at Union's Freshman Academy. Tulsa police said they received information that Hopkins was possibly having inappropriate contacts and relationships with several students between the ages of 13 and 15.

TPD said several students corroborated the allegations and claimed Hopkins would communicate with the children via Snapchat and Instagram.

Some students told officers that he asked questions about their genitalia and that Hopkins would offer money for a nude photo in return. Students also told officers they received nude photos of Hopkins.

Officers said several students have come forward since the beginning of the investigation and additional charges may be added in the future.

If you have additional information about this case, please call the Special Victims Unit at 918-596-9168.

Union Public Schools provided this statement regarding the allegations:

Carlos Hopkins is no longer an employee of Union Public Schools. We are cooperating fully with the Tulsa Police Department and have turned over all information to them on this matter. At Union, we take the safety of our students very seriously.
