WATCH | State Question 820: Recreational Marijuana Vote Town Hall
TULSA, Okla. (KTUL) — After years of talk, Oklahomans are now just weeks away from deciding whether or not to approve recreational marijuana.
Voters will head to the polls on March 7 – early voting begins March 2 – but before heading out, NewsChannel 8's Mark Bradshaw and Brenna Rose are bringing awareness to some of the issues weighing on everyone's minds by speaking with people on both sides of the issue in tonight's special town hall at 6:30 p.m.
Those joining the Town Hall are:
- Tulsa County District Attorney Steve Kunzweiler
- Representing the campaign for "Protect Our Kids No 820," Steve Thompson, vice president of Public Policy for the Oklahoma Farm Bureau
- State Representative Scott Fetgatter, R-Broken Arrow
- Damion Shade, the executive director at Oklahomans for Criminal Justice Reform and representing the campaign for "YES on 820"
- Oklahoma Cannabis Industry Association board member Mike Ervin
Each of them will provide their side of the argument and discuss the real concerns and issues surrounding Oklahomans who plan to make a decision next month.
The issue isn't as simple as saying "yes" or "no" to recreational marijuana; there's much more to this, so NewsChannel 8 is aiming to uncover what's really at stake if the State Question passes or fails.
