ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. (WPEC) - The teen who stabbed his classmate 114 times on Mother's Day two years ago learned his fate on Friday.
A judge sentenced 16-year-old Aiden Fucci to life in prison. The teen pleaded guilty to killing 13-year-old Tristyn Bailey in 2021. He was 14 at the time.
Bailey's body was found, fully clothed, in a wooded area near Fucci's home.
The sentence came after two days of emotional impact statements from family members of the young cheerleader. Bailey's mother sobbed while telling the judge Fucci is "beyond saving."
Fucci was not eligible for the death penalty due to his age. He will be eligible for review in 25 years.
