A metro homeless woman was arrested after police say she struck a woman that was hosting a prayer session outside a metro store.

The Oklahoma City Police Department reports that 38-year-old Catherine Smith, also known as Catherine Clair, was arrested March 9 on a complaint of assault and battery.

Police reports show that just before 11 p.m. officers were called to an assault VP Fuels, 1001 W. Sheridan. The victim told police that she comes to the gas station on a regular basis to pray with homeless individuals. She was praying with a woman when she noticed Smith walking towards her. Smith then reportedly struck the victim in the head.

The victim fell to the ground. While on the ground, Smith reportedly kicked her several times before walking away.

Officers were able to quickly take Smith into custody. While in a police vehicle she allegedly admitted that "she hated" how the victim would always come to the gas station to pray and that she wanted her to leave.

Smith was later booked into the Oklahoma County Jail.
