Utah: Pole Creek Fire - 71,000 acres burned, nearly 25% contained
Progress is being made on the Pole Creek Fire.
Officials in Utah County say the blaze has already scorched more than 71,000 acres.
That makes it the biggest fire the state has seen this year. The good news is that, as of Monday evening, it was 23-percent contained.
Roughly 6,000 people have been forced to evacuate their homes.
The mayor of Elk Ridge says the evacuations could last up to two weeks.
