TULSA, Okla. (KTUL) — The University of Oklahoma says one of its football players is recovering after collapsing during the team's morning workout on Thursday.
Multiple sources close to the family tell NewsChannel 8 the player who collapsed is Gentry Williams, who graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in Tulsa.
They said he was taking part in an exercise similar to “tug of war” during morning workouts and held his breath too long during the drill, causing him to pass out.
Williams has been released from the hospital and is expected to be OK.
