Senior quarterback Wil Amos finished his career on a high note. Afton defeated Crescent 44-12 to win the Class A state title Friday evening at Owasso High School. Not only did Amos go 25-1 as Afton's starting QB, he became on the 10th high school player in Oklahoma history to rush for over 3,000 career yards. Amos's final tally was 3,245 rushing yards along with 45 touchdowns.

Six of those touchdowns came in Friday night. After Amos intercepted a Tigers throw early in the second quarter, he followed up two plays later on the ensuing offensive series with 90 yard touchdown run; extending the Eagles' lead to 14-0. It was already his second rushing touchdown of the night. It wouldn't even be his only touchdown run of 90+ yards.

The Eagles built a 22-6 halftime lead and never allowed Crescent to reduce that 16 point deficit. It's the first football state championship for the Afton Eagles who finish 2017 with a 13-0 record.
