It was a record four seasons in the making. The Wagoner High School football team won a state record 43rd consecutive game Friday evening with a 62-22 victory over visiting McLain. The Bulldogs' last defeat came against Cascia Hall in October of 2014.

Emotions ran wild in the aftermath of Wagoner's historic accomplishment. The team was greeted with shirts, hats, fireworks, and special video on the jumbotron in their honor.

The previous mark of 42 wins was set by Ada High School which spanned from 1993 through 1996. Some players from those previous Ada teams came to witness the new mark and congratulate Wagoner.
