Oklahoma sophomore wide receiver Marquise Brown turned in a record-setting performance in the Sooners' 56-14 win over Tulane on Saturday and was named the Big 12 Newcomer of the Week on Monday morning.

In his most extensive action of the season, the junior college transfer from College of the Canyons (Calif.) recorded career highs of six catches and 155 receiving yards. The 155 yards were the most by a Sooner this season.

The 5-11, 162-pound speedster registered his first career touchdown after hauling in a deep pass from Kyler Murray that Brown ran in for an 87-yard score. It was the fifth-longest reception in OU history and the second longest on Owen Field.

Brown, who hails from Hollywood, Fla., recorded 141 of his receiving yards after halftime. That set a school record for receiving yards in a second half.

In two games this season, Brown has nine catches for 187 yards. He is averaging 93.5 yards per contest and 20.8 yards per reception.

No. 3 Oklahoma looks to extend its nation-leading 13-game winning streak when it plays at Baylor on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. CT. The Sooners have also won 12 consecutive true road games.

Saturday's game will be televised by FS1 and will air in 4K on DIRECTV channel 106.
