TU shutout 23-0 by Arkansas
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KTUL) —
Quarterback Seth Boomer completed 8 passes out of 25 attempts with one interception as Tulsa was routed 23-0 by Arkansas Saturday.
The Tulsa running game never got off the ground with only 133 yards on 40 attempts. Golden Hurricane running back Shamari Brooks rushed for 91 yards on 20 carries.
In all, the Tulsa offense could only muster 260 yards against a Razorback defense that has been improving, but had given up big plays and big points during a six-game losing streak.
The Arkansas defense held TU to only 12 total yards in the third quarter Saturday.
This is the Razorbacks' first win over an FBS opponent this season and the team's first shutout since 2014.
Arkansas head coach Chad Morris praised his players for finishing the game.
The Tulsa defense allowed 327 total yards, with 196 of those yards coming on the ground.
After dropping some close games in recent weeks, Tulsa moves to 1-6 on the season.
Next up, the Golden Hurricane will face Tulane (2-4) next Saturday at H.A. Chapman Stadium. That game will kickoff at 6 p.m.
