So you already know I'm a reporter here at KTUL. But did you also know I'm a Texas boy, born and raised? I transplanted to Tulsa in December 2014 where I've met many wonderful Oklahomans and learned so much about this great city.

My passion is great storytelling, using powerful words and colorful video. Maybe I'll figure out how to do that someday. Something I love about my job is that I get to meet all the ordinary, amazing heroes among us and share their stories with the world.

My news career started back in Texas, where I got my journalism degree from the University of Houston. I worked for KPRC Channel 2 in Houston, first as an editor and then a news writer. But my big break came when KBTX in Bryan/College Station, Texas gave me my first reporting gig. While at KBTX, I was honored to receive two Texas AP awards and a Texas Emmy nomination for a story on robots helping homebound children attend school. I was also able to break a story about a high school student who was suspended for standing up for a special needs kid who was being bullied. The amazing and controversial story eventually went national with my video and interviews.

Then KTUL called and I think you know the rest of that story... But if you don't, here's a little bit of what I've been doing. Since coming to Tulsa, I've covered the officer-involved shooting in Muskogee, extreme flooding, the Eric Harris shooting, flooding, that time when some crooks stole some stuff, and also some pretty severe flooding. But, hey, you probably know what happens in Tulsa.

My family and I are still getting plugged in here in Tulsa, but we enjoy being part of our community, so we are out and about a lot. Maybe we'll run into each other. Unless it's night time and the kids are asleep, that's our Netflix time and The West Wing is calling.

I enjoy giving back to the community by playing drums with the worship band at our church. I also love drinking coffee. If you work at Starbucks, your job is secure and you have a promising future career. As my personal barista.

I seem to remember something called free time. Right now, my free time is spent mostly with my three little princesses and my one beautiful wife. Princesses who wake me up way too early in the morning, asking for food and make my life... well, beautiful and wonderful.

If you want to share your story with me, or you know the rest of a story you want to share with me, or somebody else's story that you think should be shared... this is starting to get a little creepy. But, seriously... if you know some news you think I should know about, email me.
