Hi my name is Ryan. I come to Tulsa from Evansville, Ind. where I spent nearly five years reporting and anchoring news and sports for the ABC affiliate.
I started as a reporter in 2011 covering stories like house fires and tornados. Then I got a knock on my proverbial door from my first love, sports. I played baseball most of my life, with snippets of everything else sprinkled in along the way. I’m getting old(er) now, so golf is my current competitive release.
I moved to the sports department in 2012 and started covering state championships, Big 10 basketball championships and the Indianapolis Colts, among many other things.
I transitioned again when the opportunity to anchor the news fell into my lap. Since then, I’ve talked with presidential and vice presidential candidates, mayors, police chiefs and thousands of incredible people.
My passion, though, is storytelling. I’m thrilled to be here in Tulsa in the next step in an incredible journey through life. I discovered my love of storytelling early in life. Sitting around living rooms and campfires with family and friends trying to elicit a sigh, gasp, tear or chuckle are some of my best early memories. Then I went to college at West Virginia University and figured out that you can do that for a living for more people than just your family and friends.
I’ve had the opportunity to meet scores of wonderful people along the way and can’t wait to do the same here. That’s what this life is all about. It’s the people you get to share it with. And I can’t wait to share this journey with you, hopefully telling stories that you A.) enjoy and B.) learn something useful in the watching.
I came to Tulsa as a multimedia journalist and now I'm reporting and anchoring sports. Email me a story idea. You guys have the best ones.
Can’t wait to meet you,
